
Today’s frog is the Dyeing poison arrow frog or Dendrobates tinctorious. The tinctorious was one of the first poison dart frogs known to the Europeans. The name dyeing poison arrow frog comes from hunters using the skin toxins on their arrows. The dyeing portion comes from a legend that tribes used to dye parrots feathers by plucking all of its feathers and spreading a little bit of frog skin and blood where the color change was to occur and all previously green feathers would grow back as red or yellow.

Are you sure that “doodles” is the right word for these drawings? Framed this would look nice on a wall. This is more like art I think.

I have some larger ones that I would love to frame and place on my wall. I also thought these would look nice as a photo a day calendar, but I will need a lot more of them.
