Hoya carnosa f. compacta ‘Krinkle Kurl’

Origin- Southern India

Lighting –

Water – once per week or when soil is almost dry

Soil- succulent soil

This succulent is not reccommended for vivariums as it prefers much dryer soil than a terrarium can provide, however if you have a desert tank, this plant may thrive.  As a houseplant it is considered an easy to keep and care for plant.  This plant will bloom in spring and summer with many small star shaped flowers that are deep pink in color.  A mature rope vine can reach 1.5-2″ wide and up to 20 feet long, however this would take a very long time to achieve that length.

Holcoglossum wangii

Origin-China/ Vietnam

Lighting –Bright light

Water – 2-4 waterings per week.  Let dry between waterings

Soil- stick mounted plant

Temperature-between 40-95 degrees F.

This orchid is very pretty with pink, yellow and red in the center of the bloom.  The flowers can take as long as 6 months from the emergence of the spike to the opening of the first flower.  These flowers can be up to 2″ in size.  In China & Vietnam these orchids can be found on the mossy  branches of old trees.
