Ameerega Trivittata – Three Striped Arrow Frog
A. trivittata is a rather large frog that can be found in Bolivia, Brazil, Columbia, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela & possible Peru & French Guiana. As an adult they can reach sizes up to 3″.
These frogs can be found in tropical moist lowland forest floors.
There are multiple types of Ameerega trivatta as the photos show. There are Green 2 stripe, Green 3 stripe, Huallaga Canyon, Bajo Huallaga, Greenback and Red.
Each variation is more unique and awesome than the last.
This species is threatened by deforestation. It is also affected by the international pet trade, however it is not found illegally traded often enough to be a major threat. It is listed as least concern by the IUCN red list.
