Today’s frog is the Blessed Poison Frog. This doodle is one of my all time favorites. The R. Benedicta are known for their red heads and whimsical patterns across their lovely blue body.

Here is a photo taken by John P. Clare and used within the Flickr Creative Commons license. Take a look at his other works here.

Stay tuned for the rest of the April A to Z frog doodles. Check out other participants here!

That’s gorgeous! I have a poison dart frog poem in my book, Animal Magic (about endangered creatures). I LOVE frogs. I usually do an A-Z on animals on http://www.lizbrownleepoet – but have done something different this year on http://www.poetryroundabout. and I have done it differently, too, Z to A! Looking forward to seeing more lovely doodles! Liz
Thanks! Can’t wait to see more poems although I must admit I will miss the animals 🙂
Wow! That little critter barely looks real. It’s like a work of art.

Thanks! This is one of my favorites! It is real tiny in real life as well measuring up to 3/4″.
So, Arlee said what I was going to say. He’s so tiny and colorful, he barely looks real. He could be in a science fiction movie or something. What a great disguise for poison!
He is very tiny! In real life he will be lucky to reach 3/4″ long. They are indeed poisonous but such a gorgeous animal.
What amazing colors! That is quite the eye-catching frog!
Thanks! I have been fond of these frogs since I started to see them within the pet trade. Can’t wait to learn some hobbies from you this year.
