Found:

Lives mostly on the ground in tropical rainforests, but can be found up in trees as well. It is found in 2 little areas in the Northwest portion of Colombia.

Behavior:

Recommended to be housed in pairs. Froglets can be hard to find due to tiny size.

Size:

1/2″ – 1″

Temperature & Humidity:

They like temperatures in the mid 70’s. Lehmanni are said to like mid-high humidity.

Feeding:

They love insects. In the wild they will eat ants, mites & larvae. In captivity, they are normally fed flightless fruit flies, pinhead crickets, isopods & springtails. In captivity, their diet should be dusted with a vitamin supplement in order to give them the nutrients they need.

Breeding:

This species is difficult to breed in captivity. The typical age of sexual maturity is around 1-1.5 years old, however it could take up to 2 years for successful reproduction.

Threats:

According to the IUCN Red List, the Oophaga Lehmanni is Critically Endangered. Their major threats are agricultural development, logging, human settlement & spraying of illegal crops.
