Great collection of photos! I’m always amazed at the sheer variety you can find within a species.
Thanks! It is crazy to see them all together! A lot of them look similar and then there are some that look nothing like any of the others! Crazy how nature works sometimes!
Very nice! Thanks for taking the time to put this list together!
No problem! I am working on some other species lists with pictures as well!
i am new to keeping frogs these are all so beautiful
I agree they are all beautiful! There are so many species and it is amazing how many different types there are!
What an amazing and truly beautiful collection of photographs! I will be travelling to Costa Rico soon, and I will be spending much of my time trying to find beautiful frogs to photograph!
Oh my goodness. I am so jealous! I went to Costa Rica a couple years ago, (before I had an obsession with frogs) so we didn’t do any tours like that. I am very jealous and can’t wait to see what you all see!
These frogs are absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing them with us…

This is a beautiful collection of photos. I am relatively new to the dart frog world, however years of research has proven thinfs duccessfulnthyd far. I research each of my new animal care endeavors to the max. There are a plethora of ‘frog breeders’ out there claiming their ways and products are supreme. Whether or not you have a financial system that supports a zoological quality vivarium, or you are someone interested in an office size viv with thumbnail beauties, again, do your homework, read the reviews, and look at the BBB ratings. Also, you may want to join a herp blog where others can give good counsel. Make sure your live planted viv is up and running for a couple months: 3-4 at least, plants are all thriving, and you have the correct substrate, which I understand is a controversial subject. Just do your part as a pet parent. There are many beautiful waterfall vivs, others with elaborate water wall snd stream features, and those vivs that look like a monsoon 100% of the time. The space left for the frogs to wander, is scant at best. Remember they need humidity, and not to have water dripping on them constantly. As far as the plants in many of those vivs, they do not tolerate soggy conditions with a constant dripping directly on the plants; it could rot and break down planrs and their root system rather quickly. Talk to your local plant doctors, county zoo keepers, botonists, etc. If you do things correctly the first time, you will enjoy the challange that it is. Making mistakes are very costly, either on a financial basis or worse, when there is loss of life that could be prevented. Thank you for reading my 2 cents worth!!
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful overview. I can’t find the Tinctorius tumucumaque in your list 😉
Greetz from the Netherlands.
you forgot tinctorius tumucumaque
I have not seen those available in the pet trade yet. Last I heard they were still illegal to own.
You forgot one of the neatest varieties… Tumucumaque.
Oops my apologies, I see someone mentioned them.
So cute, I want a frog!
