Sorry about the lack of posts this week! My husband and I were in Chicago with his family and I didn’t have time to make a post.
I was thinking of you all though! We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, Skydeck, Field Museum, Museum of Science & industry & the Adler Planetarium! We saw lots of frogs!
Here are a couple of pictures from the Lincoln Park Zoo! They had nice enclosures and the frogs seemed to be loving them! I really liked the Tree Frog photo exhibit so I added a couple pictures of the photos as well. They had lots of different kinds of frogs including poison dart frogs, tree frogs and toads! I even added a picture of a cool lizard we saw there.
Here are a couple pictures from the Shedd Aquarium. Here they had really large enclosures for their frogs. We even found a couple species that we had at home! Both the leucs & the imitators were featured! We also have some tincs but they are the Bakhuis’ morph not the Azureus. The really large bull frogs were pretty cool as well!
If you look closely at the photo above, you can see there are actually some imitator frogs on one of the main tree trunks.
It was a very fun trip, but the frogs & tadpoles were glad for us to come home yesterday. They handled it well, but were very glad to get fed again.
Here are some pictures of the tadpoles. They grew a lot while we were gone! The last picture you can clearly see their back legs and can see their front legs getting ready to pop out. It will be a little bit still until they have their front legs, but boy have their back legs gotten bigger!
